The First Build Of Windows 10 For Phones

The First Build Of Windows 10 For Phones

It’s out, folks! Microsoft promised a release of the first preview build of Windows 10 for Phones in early February, and we may be just a couple of days off, but the test version is finally available.
If you have been itching to get a taste of the next version of Windows Phone, today is your lucky day.
You will, of course, need the Windows Insider App in order to get access to these preview bits, and that is linked below. After installing it on your device you can initiate the download of the new mobile operating system.
As previous reported, not all smartphones will be able to run the Windows 10 for Phones technical preview in this first phase. For good reason, maybe, but this is something that will disappoint some users that wanted in early.
Below is a list of handsets that this first wave supports:
  • Lumia 630
  • Lumia 635
  • Lumia 636
  • Lumia 638
  • Lumia 730
  • Lumia 830
Still in its early stages, Windows 10 for Phones is designed to bring together all Microsoft platforms together, while offering universal apps to mobile users.
We shall see how this strategy comes together as development progresses in the coming months.
And finally, as with all prerelease software (particularly mobile operating system), it is advisable to take caution when deploying it on your phones. Bugs could impact your daily use, so if you plan on installing this on your primary smartphones, it might be preferable to wait for a more stable release.
If you’re ready, though, then download Windows 10 for Phones.
